Ben's Bio

Ben Sheppard fell in love with music at an early age.  His parents recognized this while Ben was still very young.  At 5 years of age they enrolled him in piano lessons.  After 8 years of piano lessons his teacher gave up on him because he played everything by ear instead of by note.

In his early teens Ben started to play the electric guitar and drums, convinced he was going to be a Christian rock star.  After a couple of years he realized everyone played guitar.  So Ben started playing  bass guitar instead since it  seemed like worship teams always needed a good bass player!

As his love for the Lord and his talent grew, he found himself playing on multiple worship teams both in the church and in the community.  Gravitating back to acoustic guitar, he began to lead worship as opportunity allowed.  Over the last 5 years God has opened more and more doors for Ben to lead worship and share his music.

Currently Ben is the worship Pastor at Calvary Church in Sioux Falls, SD.
Ben also spends time sharing original music from his 2009 album "Things I Think About" in churches and other venues througout the midwest.

Recently, Ben has played and toured with national acts such as “Angel Dean” and has worked with sought after producer and engineer Mike Dresch to record his latest solo project.   Ben is currently back in the studio working on a new Worship project due to be released late 2011.

Ben's family is the most important ministry he has and Ben is grateful that they support his music ministry.  Ben is excited about where the Lord is leading him and the doors that God has opened for him.
